EaT uR heArT oUT!

Over the weekend, it's been kind of fulfilling. Finally, i decided to pick up my lazy bum and do stuff that i have been jolting down in my to-do list. I cleaned my curtains, swept the floor and bought the ingredients for my dessert experiment...
First up, I made the New Orleans dessert:
banana peel foster
(picture will be available on my second attempt). The outcome was a tad too sweet for the tastebuds, and i failed to flourish the dish with the flame but overall it tasted unique. Nothing i've tasted before. it would have been truly surreal if i wasn't the cook. But there are some ingredients that i left out=> banana liquer, almonds, vanilla ice cream, dark rum (my uncle bought a malibu coconut rum instead) but surprisingly the coconut essence gave the dessert added flavour.
Next up,
strawberry panna cotta, an italian dessert, the recipe from which i got from
chocolateandzucchini. It's extremely simple to make and doesn't take much preparation... (i'm not going to say effort cos, with effort comes result). It's now in my fridge and hopefully it'll turn out palatable.

Some recommended food to savour for budget tight ppl like me:

Top 73+1 fishball noodle in Sun plaza - try their fishballs, not the noodle. Its' handmade and tender. Appetitemeter: @@@OO
Geylang Lor 9 beef horfun - they serve a mean dish with loads of tender beef and delectable sauce. But at $5 a plate, it'll only serve as a good supper filler. @@@@O
(try the next door tau huay too)
Kim Moh restaurant - this place is the once-a-while prime eating place for lunch after skating. Their beef noodle is the highlight there but they also serve delicious noodles and hor fun. @@@@
